Speed, Looping, and Sections
Short answer: use speed controls, loops, and song sections to practice difficult parts without replaying the whole song.
Practice Workflow
- Find the hard phrase.
- Slow playback down.
- Loop the phrase or section.
- Play clean repetitions.
- Increase speed gradually.
- Turn off the loop and play into/out of the phrase.
Sections
Sections mark song parts such as intro, verse, chorus, solo, or bridge when the song file includes that data. Use sections to jump to musically meaningful parts.
Looping
Loops are useful for:
- Repeating a riff.
- Working on a transition.
- Practicing a solo in smaller chunks.
- Testing timing after calibration changes.
Speed
Slowing down can make practice more accurate, but do not stay slow forever. Raise speed once the movement feels controlled.
Common Problems
| Problem | Try This |
|---|---|
| Section labels are missing | The song may not include section data. |
| Loop starts in the wrong place | Adjust loop boundaries or use a section marker. |
| Scoring changes at slower speed | Recheck calibration and timing if it feels inconsistent. |
